UNC Pembroke West Hall
Fleming and Associates, PA was the structural Engineer of Record for a $12 million comprehensive renovation of a 60,000 square foot, three story, 1960s era college dormitory into a technology center. Extensive demolition required that the building be structurally assessed before work could continue. The design work included but was not limited to; the installation of a clerestory in one wing, creation of lateral bracing systems in all three wings, a new curtainwall system, and significant to minor modifications of window and door openings. This renovation was awarded the AIA Charlotte Citation Award for Adaptive Reuse in 2019.
